As individuals
we respond to color differently. For some people the brilliant
red of autumn foliage immediately catches our eye. For others,
the peaceful quiet of a snow scene brings to mind the solitude
of a winter evening. The natural environment surrounds us with
a variety of colors. Almost any scene with natural or man-made
objects contains an infinite variety of colors and hues. When
we encounter a scene with a limited color space such as the delicate
purple of lingering twilight or the deep blue of a mountain lake,
it often strikes us as unusual or even memorable. As a photographer,
I have always been drawn to scenes that stand out not for their
variety of colors, but for the predominance of an individual
color. |
