Individual Colors

Why Individual Colors?
As individuals we respond to color differently. For some people the brilliant red of autumn foliage immediately catches our eye. For others, the peaceful quiet of a snow scene brings to mind the solitude of a winter evening. The natural environment surrounds us with a variety of colors. Almost any scene with natural or man-made objects contains an infinite variety of colors and hues. When we encounter a scene with a limited color space such as the delicate purple of lingering twilight or the deep blue of a mountain lake, it often strikes us as unusual or even memorable. As a photographer, I have always been drawn to scenes that stand out not for their variety of colors, but for the predominance of an individual color.
